My name is David Ramsell I am a driftwood artist working in North Wales. My family and I gather driftwood from local Welsh beaches. It is then dried out naturally, and I use it together with recycled items in my work.

As featured in the July 2010 issue of Country Homes & Interiors Coastal Special.

We have a small gallery near Caernarfon in North Wales, in a village called Pontllyfni only five minutes walk from the beach. In my work I try to keep the driftwood as natural as possible and only change it by cutting where it is absolutely necessary. I make a variety of items including sculptures, mirrors, tea light holders, tables, ships, ship wall plaques, lamps, sets of hooks and hanging mobiles.

All of the measurments quoted on this site are approximate and may vary slightly.

My gallery in Pontllyfni has now closed, (although all of my contact details are the same). I now show and sell my work at craft fairs and shows. In December I exhibited in Glynllifon and Portmerion Food & Craft Fairs. I am now working on the prizes for the 2013 Snowdon Marathon, and have been creating some new pieces that I will be adding to my web site over the next few days.

I have just moved my gallery and studio into unit 6, in the craft workshops at Glynllifon. I am open most days but if you are travelling far it is better to phone first to make sure that I am there, I will also open by appointment.

Below are some photos of my new Gallery & Workshop in Glynllifon.
